Gavin Clifton - Stair Climb Blue Mountains style..
Story
On the 20th November, I've taken up the challenge to do #1504forMND.
In a “normal” year, its myself and my fellow Fire mates from FRNSW 495 Wentworth Falls climbing the 1,504 steps of Sydney Tower Eye to raise money and awareness for motor neurone disease - but this year is anything but normal.
Since we can't all get together, I'll be taking on the challenge in my home area - The Blue Mountains.
I'll be climbing at least the 1,504 steps doing at least two repetitions of the Blue Mountains 951 steps of the Furber Stairs (running down to the bottom for the climb, then back up again).
For extra bonus $$$ for this wonderful cause, I’ll do it a more times if you donate more!!! I reckon I have up to six repetitions of Furber Steps in me! Down and Up! That's over 10,000 steps!
A big donation is required for this tough challenge, so dig deep people as this is such a destructive disease that takes too many people, too early in there lives.
The more the merrier! If you want to join me come for a few reps! The Blue Mountains Fitness TEAMBMF Runners will be there too!
This challenge is hard, but not as hard as MND which is a progressive, terminal neurological disease. It affects the nerve cells (neurons) controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow, causing them the degenerate and die. So, to raise funds and much greater awareness for MND, I'd love your support.
Every donation is a step towards a world without MND.
Macquarie University (Health)
Your donation will go towards MND Research at Macquarie University. Macquarie University houses Australia’s largest MND research facility, as well as the MND Clinic which treats 10% of MND patients in Australia. All researchers work together in the one facility, on the one topic, with one aim: To stop MND.
